Mixing Premixed Exterior Stucco:
Add enough water for one sack to the mixer.  Add the first sack of finish to the water in the mixer and allow the sack to mix for approx 5 minutes.  Add each additional sack to the mixer by adding half the required water first - then the sack – then the remaining water.  Do not over thin the mix.  Add the final sack to the batch, adding enough water to bring the complete batch to a working consistency.  Allow the complete batch to mix for 15 to 20 minutes after the last sack has been added.

Mixing Base and Color Pak:
Add enough water for one sack to the mixer.    Add the first sack of finish to the water in the mixer and all the color paks for the batch.

Application:
Exterior Stucco Finish shall be applied by hand or machine application to a finished thickness of 1/16 to 1/8 inch.
1. Hand Application over portland cement base- Prior to application of Exterior Stucco Finish, the base coat shall be sprayed with clean water to control and equalize water absorption
2. Machine Application over portland cement base - Base coat shall be dry. (It is not necessary to spray the base coat before application of Exterior Stucco Finish by machine, as the compound itself has ample moisture when mixed for this purpose.) Spray the first coat in a thin consistency over the dry surface and cover base coat completely.

After first coat has dried, which may take two or more hours depending on climatic conditions, spray second coat in a thicker consistency and bring to the desired texture. Second coat may be sprayed the following day.

Curing:
Exterior Stucco Finish requires moist curing in hot, dry or windy conditions. Cementitious base coats and finishes are normally high pH surfaces. Exterior Stucco should be completely cured allowing the pH level to neutralize (below 8) prior to painting. This may occur in about two weeks, although it is recommended for the stucco to be fully cured, which normally occurs after 28 days of application. When exterior paint coatings are applied, ensure the surface pH level is neutral prior to application and follow the paint manufacturers' recommendations for pH compatibility and installation guidelines.

Limitations:
Do not apply when surface or ambient temperatures are at or below 40ºF / 4.4ºC or above 100ºF / 34ºC. Do not apply to surfaces that are contaminated with bond breakers, oils or other matter that may affect the performance of the product. Do not apply Western Exterior Stucco Finish if conditions are expected to be above or below the specified temperature range within 24 hours of application. Do not add additional ingredients to Western Exterior Stucco Finish without specific written approval from an authorized manufacturer of Western Blended Products.
